About this Live Yes! Connect Group:
Our vision is to provide a group that connects, educates and empowers all adults who battle some form of Arthritis in the Wichita Metro area!
I am excited to be the facilitator of the Wichita Metro Live Yes! Connect group. I have lived with Rheumatoid Arthritis for the last 2 years and have been a caregiver to my daughter who was 9 years old when she was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis over 7 years ago. The Arthritis Foundation has given our family education, support, hope and belonging since my daughter was first diagnosed and we could not have traveled this journey as successfully as we have without the support of the AF. The support that the AF has given has been life changing and that is why I want people in the Wichita Metro to have a group like this so that they can also be educated and empowered while living with any form of Arthritis. I personally have been very involved in Advocacy with the Arthritis Foundation and I feel that we need to be showing people that they can advocate for themselves and make a difference in their lives but also in the lives of others. In 2017 I was awarded the Arthritis Foundation's highest honor for Advocacy by receiving the Kennedy Award.
I am married to my amazing high school sweetheart and we have celebrated 23 years of marriage. I am a busy mom of two. My son is a freshman at Wichita State and my daughter is a junior in high school. I love going to all of the activities and seeing them be the best they can be no matter what. I also have two wonderful Papillion "fur babies" Daisy June and Samuel Augustus!
I graduated from the University of Kansas in 1997 with a bachelor’s of science in Occupational Therapy and I have been a practicing OT since then. I have worked with patients of all ages and currently I love the chance to make a difference in the lives of residents in a long-term care.
I enjoy travel and love going on hikes with my family at National Parks. My favorite times are when my family is together. I also enjoy reading, playing games, scrapbooking and watching movies. My son and I love a good Comic Con but I have to say a nice walk around the neighborhood is a treasure also.
Hello! My name is Laura Ronnfeldt and I have lived in Wichita for 8 years. I am married to a wonderful and supportive husband for 3 years. I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis when I was 4. I would like to be a Leader because I would like to help support others.
