Live Yes! Connect launched: 2019

Live Yes! Connect Facilitator: Courtney                      Type of Arthritis: Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis

About this Live Yes! Connect Group:

My vision for this Live Yes! Connect group is I would like to facilitate a group geared more towards young adults, yet inclusive to people of all ages. I would start by asking the group participants what topics they would like to focus on and then bring in speakers for the ones that are outside of my area. Being a social worker, I bring an extensive knowledge about mental health and well-being and see that being a focus, along with other ways to maintain wellness while living with a rheumatic condition. I would like to become a facilitator at this time because I've benefited significaly from these types of groups in the past and would like to provide such an opportunity to others.

About: Courtney

I've been living with JRA for over 30 years and my experience inspired me to pursue a career in academic research, studying the social and emotional effects of living with chronic conditions. I've been volunteering with the AF for 15 years and am currently the Mental Health Director at Camp Cambria. I'm also married and have two spunky children.
