Live Yes! Connect relaunched: 2019

Live Yes! Connect Facilitator: Laura                Type of Arthritis: Rheumatoid Arthritis

About this Live Yes! Connect Group:

My vision for this group--I want to continue telling my RA story and help individuals who deal with the disease on a day to day basis keep a positive attitude. My mantra has always been, "I want to show this disease that it doesn't have control of me, I have control of it". I think this control can be done in a number of ways, but always positive, such as learning how to eat right, learning mindfulness, exercise, etc. I will facilitate my group in a fun, engaging, and educational manner.

About: Laura

I was born and raised in Louisville, KY and moved to Cincinnati, OH in 2005. I am the youngest of four girls and I am the "baby sister". I've had a career in banking for 20+ years and currently, I work for Fifth Third Bank in Risk Management. I was diagnosed with RA when I was 20 years old, after going undiagnosed for 2 years prior. I've been through all the ups and downs of RA. I am seeing a wonderful man who has 3 kids who keep me very active. I'm also a runner and walker. I've run 3 marathons and many half marathons. I'm currently training to walk the Flying Pig Half Marathon and then in the fall, I'll be back on the road training to run/walk the New Your City Marathon!
