Live Yes! Connect relaunched: 2019

Live Yes! Connect Facilitator: Caylen             Type of Arthritis: Rheumatoid Arthritis

About this Live Yes! Connect Group:

I became a facilitator because I struggled with my arthritis for many years and felt very isolated. My friends and family did not understand what I was experiencing and I was embarrassed to admit that I could not do certain things. After meeting others who are also struggling to manage their arthritis I found that my disease was easier to deal with. I began talking about it more and I'm not the least bit embarrassed when I need to explain how my arthritis is impacting me. I hope to bring my experiences to others and help them to live health and happy. I would like to make sure that as many people as possible to do have to feel isolated by their disease.

About: Caylen

I am a 29 year old working as a product owner in the software development field. I'm also a fitness instructor at a local studio in Pittsburgh and a consultant for a pure, healthy skincare and nutrition company. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis around the age of 15. I've been volunteering with the Pittsburgh area Arthritis Foundation for the last few years and have taken a great interest in helping those like myself live happy and healthy lifestyles. I have struggled to manage my disease but with the help of my doctor and a healthier lifestyle I have not had symptoms in over a year. I hope to be able to help others through the emotional and physical struggles of dealing with arthritis by sharing my experiences and ways that I have been successful in managing the effects of this disease.

I'm a very outgoing person. I enjoy hearing other stories and I actually enjoy telling mine. I'm a big Pittsburgh sports fan (I watch almost anything and attend as many games as I can). I love teaching and attending fitness classes at my studio and local studios in the area. I'm very passionate about being active in my community and like to donate my time and resources to helping improve the world we live in. I also have a great deal of love for my family, friends and my pups!
