Live Yes! Connect launched: 2018

Live Yes! Connect Facilitator: Sarah               Type of Arthritis: Osteoarthritis/ Rhuematoid Arthritis

About this Live Yes! Connect Group:

To create a Live Yes! Connect group here in Southern Utah, an underserved area. To be able to have in-person support for people battling Arthritis.

About: Sarah

Sarah was diagnosed at the age of 19 with osteoarthritis after several injuries to her knees and hips. Like most twenty-somethings, she didn't think much of it and brushed it aside. She was diagnoised just this past year with Rhuematoid Arthritis.

In 2009, her son Chris started developing unexplained knee swelling and endured countless months of misdiagnosis and treatments. In 2010 Chris was officially diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic arthritis with a subtype of Enthesitis-related Arthritis. This diagnosis led to involvement with their local arthritis foundation.

Through the years Sarah has with the help of her family chaired a local Jingle bell run, became a vocal patient advocate and parent support leader. It was during a trip to the National Conference that specialists asked a critical question of their family. This question ultimately leads to the diagnosis of her husband Mike with ankylosing spondylitis.

Every member of the Cloud family has a form of arthritis, including the dogs. There walk team "Arthritis Family Affair' can be found at walks in Salt Lake City Utah, and Las Vegas Nevada; where you will find her manning the booth for advocacy.

Her passion has led her to serve on the Arthritis Foundations Patient Leadership Council, and Utahs executive leadership Board where she is the Advocacy Chair. She spends countless hours educating her area on the need for rheumatology and access to care issues and connecting people to local ins person support.

She currently attends Eastern Gateway Community College, online, pursuing a degree in Business Management with a Health Management Focus. When not busy with school work you will find here happily driving her big yellow school bus for the County Schoool district.

Her mission and motto are #MommasOnAMission and that no person or family should fight this alone.

I am starting a Live Yes! Connect group because there isn't anything for over 120 miles south of us and no Live Yes! Connect group in the state of Utah.
