The Art of Coping

Many of us learn over time that there is an art to coping with arthritis and rheumatic conditions. One of the many ways to cope is through creative expression.

We are exceptionally proud of this special edition of Thrive! Inside we are provided with great insights into our amazing arthritis family as we showcase their talents in various artistic mediums.  We feel fortunate that they chose to share their beautiful art with all of us.

Who knows? Maybe this issue will inspire you to get some of your own creative juices flowing!

This holiday season, we want to express our deepest gratitude to our members and supporters . We were inspired by the November 30 Days of Gratitude to begin our own ongoing Thankful Thursday campaign. We have been inspired by the gratitude you've shared in spite of the frustrations that come with a chronic illness.

We’re grateful for your support and contributions to the AI Mission. Here are some things we accomplished together in 2013:

  • Our largest Gathering Conference ever - nearly 100 participants!
  • Launching our AI Support System training program, Increasing our number of active support groups from 7 to 14!
  • Several wonderful new local and national leaders!
  • Exhibiting at our very first American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting in San Diego!

2013 AI National Gathering Confence--YOU ROCK!

WE ROCKED IT!! Yes, We did it, together; the 2013 Annual National Arthritis Introspective Gathering-G6, May 17-20, Scottsdale, AZ, was the biggest and best conference yet! When the Gathering began, six years ago, we had 15 people attend. How things have changed, for the founding members of AI, reaching the 100 participants mark is a truly inspiring milestone.

While the Gathering is always a great reunion for veteran members, we were very excited to see that nearly 50% of our participants were first time attendees and by the end of the weekend, many new friendships were made.
