Arthritis Introspective offers three programs to help fulfill the Mission.
Support Systems:
Arthritis Introspective Local Support Systems offer people in local communities to find support and education year-round without having to travel to the National Gathering. All Arthritis Introspective Support Systems follow a protocol set forth by the Board of Directors. Local Support Systems are required to meet at least once every two months, and have at least one professional educational program in a six month period. A list of local Support Systems can be seen on the SS page.
Gatherings:
The National Gathering of People Living with Arthritis is our annual educational weekend conference for people living with the disease during the prime of life. In the summer of 2007, before Arthritis Introspective was formed, some of the key volunteers put together a small conference in Tucson Arizona that was funded by two private donations totaling $2,500. We had over thirty people from as far away as Kentucky who enjoyed a weekend of support and education. It was a respectable turnout with such a small budget. It was after the Gathering that the people who made it possible wanted to do more, and the foundation was laid for the beginning of Arthritis Introspective. The annual Gathering will always be a big part of Arthritis Introspective. There is nothing like the support of meeting others with arthritis.
Outreach:
Arthritis Introspective has released its newest newsletter. The newsletter is available in hard copy format. It is packed with stories of people overcoming the challenges of having arthritis during the prime of life to go onto doing extraordinary things. The newsletter is used to inspire while also offering information in the latest medical and alternative therapies to improve overall wellness.
